Gundam: Battle Operation announced for PlayStation 3

Online Gundam coming to Japan in June.

This week’s Famitsu has revealed the latest in PlayStation 3’s ever-growing collection of Gundam titles. Due June in Japan, Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation is a downloadable online action battle game featuring 6-on-6 multiplayer matches.

It is in development at B.B. Studio, which was formed by a merger between Banpresto and Bec in August last year. The studio was responsible for 2nd Super Robot Wars Z: Hakai Volume and Masou Kishin II.

When released, the game will be downloadable and playable free of charge. It’s dubbed “a deep game that can be played for long without charge.”

Namco Bandai will hold a limited closed beta test from March 29 to 31. 10,000 applicants will be accepted. When it goes live, you should be able to apply here.
