Sony: PlayStation brand sold 6.5 million during holiday 2011

PS Vita tops half a million.

The PlayStation brand sold 6.5 million units during this past holiday season, Sony has announced.

According to Sony Corporation Representative Corporate Executive Officer and Executive Deputy President Kaz Hirai, the sales number accounts for PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PSP, and PS2 devices.

PlayStation 3 shifted 3.9 million units alone, while PSP moved 1.6 million, and PS2 sold 500,000. PlayStation Vita, shifted over half a million units in Japan since its December 17 launch, as of January 5.
