Silent Hill: Downpour detailed, ships this fall

Konami’s released the first official details and direct-feed screenshots for the Vatra-developed Silent Hill: Downpour today, also confirming a release window in the process.

Downpour follows the story of Murphy Pendleton, a convict who escapes his prison bus after it crashes and makes his way towards the fabled town of Silent Hill. Players will find themselves in an expansive open environment where what happens next is only to be told by their. It promises to evoke the same claustrophobic feeling offered by past games in the franchise.

A Game Informer preview from earlier this month revealed that the game will feature side-quests, boss battles, quick-time events, and no weapon inventory. It also revealed that a subway system is intact for players to travel between certain points in the city.

It’s out this fall for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Check out the new screenshots at the gallery.
