Catherine’s story revealed

Since Catherine‘s announcement back in August, we’ve only been granted several small pieces of the game’s story. Thankfully, though, the game’s official site has been updated with story details today.

The game opens with reports of a series of bizarre deaths. All of them men, they’re dying in their sleep left only with a terrifying expression on their face. Rumors have been circulating around town that if you have a nightmare where you’re falling but don’t immediately awaken, you’ll die.

Vincent, the game’s protagonist, is sitting in a bar he frequents with his girlfriend of five years, Katherine. She wants to get married, but Vincent is unsure about such a decision. He likes his life as it is.

Later on (after Katherine leaves, I’m assuming), a mysterious girl named Catherine comes into the bar and sits next to Vincent. Vincent, seeing her as his type, chats and ends up spending the night with her.

Every night after, Vincent begins having nightmares.

The game’s official site has video clips accompanying the story bits, for those interested. There are also voice samples for Vincent, Katherine, and Catherine.

Thanks, Andriasang.
