The first bit of Batman: Arkham City details has come out of the latest Game Informer this morning. While not much, it tells us an interesting deal about the story and gameplay mechanics – like the fact that it may be more than just an overdose that’s affected Joker. Also revealed: Batman will start off the game will all his weapons from the first and now has the ability to take on side-missions.

Story Details
- Quincy Sharp is no(t?)(w?) running for mayor. (the poster of this wrote no – we’re pretty sure he forgot a letter)
- Arkham Asylum and Black Gate Prison are unfit to hold inmates.
- Quincy Sharp buys off part of the slums and walls it off, creating Arkham City.
- Hugo Strange is in charge of Arkham City.
- Two-Face plans to execute Catwoman to gain respect of inmates.
- The overdose of venom may not be what’s wrong with the Joker.
Gameplay Details
- You are now able to counter two attacks at once.
- More puzzles.
- All gadgets included in the first game are available from the start.
- Side missions are now featured in the game.
- Gangs roam Arkham City; they are recorded in Batman’s criminal database.
- You find people who work for Ridler to find Ridler challenges.
- Batman has his smoke bomb.
