Sony Computer Entertainment president of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, has said that he was saddened to see Insomniac go multiplatform earlier this year, however, fully supports their switch.
”We grew up together” Yoshida told Develop Online. “Insomniac’s first tile was on our first platform.”
”They want to reach the people they haven’t been able to, so it was sad to hear a couple of years ago what their intent was, but as we are growing, Insomniac is growing too.”
However, Yoshida says that he fully understands why Insomniac would go multiplatform and that he is “very happy” that they made the announcement.
”And the studio has its own ambition, so I totally understand, and I am very happy how they approached the announcement. They made sure that people know they are still working with us.”
Multiplatform or not, PlayStation 3 owners are still getting Insomniac Games to play, Yoshida concluded.
