Capcom aiming to increase their output of major releases, according to a report from Nikkei’s online site. They’re trying to avoid the trip in earnings they experienced last year by releasing more software.
According to the report, Capcom is planning to launch three to four major releases per year from hit series such as Resident Evil. Compare that to the current two major releases per year.
Capcom plans to due this by outsourcing development to studios centered in North America and Europe. Using external resources helps Capcom reduce development time from four years to two or three.
More major releases are always better, right? So long as they’re not rushed.
Thanks, Andriasang.
