FirstPlay, a digital magazine from OPM UK, announced for PlayStation Network

Future Publishing has announced FirstPlay, a digital interactive magazine for the PlayStation Network. It could be compared to what Qore is to North America, except this time on a weekly basis rather than monthly. As you may have guessed, this digital magazine is only for the United Kingdom.

“FirstPlay is a ground breaking development, not just for gamers, but for the media industry, and we are delighted to be partnering with Sony on this pioneering project.” Robert Price, Chief Executive of Future UK said in the press release. “On-console delivery is an exciting next step in Future’s strategy of providing high quality content for readers and integrated media solutions for advertisers. We believe that we’ve created a product that will appeal to gamers in a uniquely effective and targeted way.”

Distribution of the magazine is to begin next month. PlayStation Network users will be able to buy three months for £8.99 or purchase single episodes for 99p.

Video demonstrations and more information can be obtained at FirstPlay’s official site.
