Batman Arkham Asylum Delayed? [Update]

Update: Eidos has confirmed the delay, although it’s not really that bad. “Eidos Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment can today confirm that Batman: Arkham Asylum will be released at the end of summer 2009. This additional time will allow us to ensure Batman: Arkham Asylum is of the highest quality for gamers.”

Original: According to sources close to the game, Batman: Arkham Asylum will not be shipping in June as originally planned. Sources say that the game has been pushed back to the “fourth quarter of 2009”.

When Eidos Interactive and Warner Bros. were reached for comment on the matter, neither of them were willing to comment. Since the game is releasing in just a month, I wonder why it’d get delayed, even with the playable demo at GameStop. Could Square Enix have anything to do with it?
