About
The word “HEIMA” means “home” or “homeland” in Icelandic.
From his home, a boy steps into parallel worlds on an unforgettable journey.
Story
He follows his brother into a world that should not exist.
Humanity has long dreamed of making instantaneous travel between distant locations possible. Eventually, teleportation technology becomes a reality. One day, however, the transportation network becomes connected to a parallel world that should never have existed.
The protagonist, Eigen, sets out into this unknown parallel world in search of his older brother, Shunei, who disappeared in an accident during a teleportation experiment. As he travels through parallel worlds with different landscapes and physical laws, Eigen encounters other versions of himself.
These other versions of Eigen differ in appearance, personality, and the environments in which they have lived. Sometimes they work together. Sometimes they clash. Through these encounters, Eigen forms bonds that transcend the boundaries between worlds.
As his journey continues, Eigen discovers that his brother’s disappearance is deeply connected to the fate of the parallel worlds.
Will Eigen be reunited with his brother? And what truth awaits him at the end of his journey across worlds?
Core Gameplay
At the heart of HEIMA are two abilities available to Eigen: SHIFT and HOLD.
With SHIFT, players can swap the positions of objects.
With HOLD, players can stop objects from moving.
What players choose to move, and what they choose to leave in place, can dramatically change the situation. By combining these two opposing abilities, players must find their own solutions and carve a path forward.
The combination of movement and stillness forms the core experience of HEIMA: using the power to move the world and the power to hold it still to find their own way forward.
