Dragon Quest series shipments and digital sales top 100 million

Total shipments and digital sales for the Dragon Quest series have surpassed 100 million units, Square Enix announced (2).

Dragon Quest first launched for Nintendo Entertainment System on May 27, 1986 in Japan.

The latest release in the series, Dragon Quest Heroes: Torneko’s Mystery Dungeon – Classic HD, surprise launched on September 9 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, as well as iOS and Android in Japan.

The next big release, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on December 3. A demo is currently available.

The next mainline game, Dragon Quest XII: Beyond Dreams, is currently in development.
