OmOchim debut trailer, 11 minutes of gameplay
A new simulation, physics, sandbox, construction, and puzzle game.
Asobism has released the debut trailer and gameplay video for OmOchim, a new simulation, physics, sandbox, construction, and puzzle game coming to PC via Steam. A release date has yet to be announced.
Here is an overview of the game, via Asobism:
About
OmOchim is a sandbox game where you combine everyday objects to build contraptions that run on real physics. A pencil, a plastic bottle, and an eraser all become raw materials for invention. Stick them together however you like and test your ideas on the spot.
In each stage, you customize your OmOchim and work your way through a variety of challenges. Combine motors, hinges, and other moving parts, then control your creations using visual programming.
With Park Builder, you can design your own courses, traps, and objectives before publishing them online for others to play. You can also bring the OmOchim you have built and compete head-to-head with other players.
OmOchim is developed jointly by Asobism’s game development team and our education division. Since 2014, the education division has run Future Craft-Making, an educational programme for primary and junior high school students in Nagano. As you play, you’ll naturally learn the fundamentals of programming and science along the way.
Key Features
- Modify OmOchim – Modify OmOchim and conquer each stage! Mix and match parts freely to upgrade its features. How you clear a stage is entirely up to you.
- Visual Programming – OmOchim can be programmed with a unique visual programming language, allowing you to create fully automated units that operate without manual control.
- Park Builder – With Park Builder, you can design entire stages yourself, from traps and items all the way to the goal. What you create is entirely up to your imagination. You can also play stages built by other players!
- Enjoy Physics-Based Gameplay – Use magnetism to gather iron balls, water to douse blazing flames, or leverage to move massive rocks. Everything in this world operates according to realistic laws of physics.
