Danganronpa 2×2 Switch 2 physical edition shifts to game-key card format

The physical edition of Danganronpa 2×22 for Switch 2, which was previously planned to release as a full game card, will now release on a game-key card in all regions including North America and Europe, Spike Chunsoft announced.

“The company emphasizes that this decision was not taken lightly and follows careful consideration,” Spike Chunsoft said in a press release. “The company does not have any additional details to share at this time.”

This announcement only applies to the Switch 2 version of the game. The PlayStation 5 and Switch versions of Danganronpa 2×2 will still ship on a disc and card, respectively.

For consumers who have pre-ordered the Danganronpa 2×2 Psycho Tropical Vacation Package for Nintendo Switch 2 from the Spike Chunsoft Official Store United States, those orders will be canceled, and you will receive a notification via email. You may place a pre-order for Danganronpa 2×2 for Nintendo Switch 2 on game-key card starting today.

Spike Chunsoft Official Store United Kingdom and Europe

For consumers who have pre-ordered the Danganronpa 2×2 Psycho Tropical Vacation Package for Nintendo Switch 2 from the Spike Chunsoft Official Store United Kingdom or EUrope, those orders will not be canceled, and you will receive a notification via email. Please be aware that you will receive the game on a game-key card.

All Other Retail Stores

For consumers who have pre-ordered Danganronpa 2×2 for Nintendo Switch 2 Standard Edition or Psycho Tropical Vacation Package from retailers other than the Spike Chunsoft Official Store, those orders will not be canceled, but please be aware that you will receive the game on a game-key card.

Danganronpa 2×2 will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam in early 2027.
