Slice-of-life adventure game Danchi Days will launch for PC via Steam on October 29 for $14.99, with a 10 percent-off discount available at release, publisher Analgesic Productions and developers sandy powder, Melos Han-Tani, mogumu, and gingham games announced. It will support English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese language options. A 90-minute demo of Chapter 1 is available now.

In Danchi Days, 12-year old Hoshino moves back to her Japanese hometown to be with her grandma, now living with dementia. Hoping to cheer her up, Hoshino decides to revive the local summer festival by inviting her quirky neighbors! In this comedic-yet-bittersweet tale, uncover forgotten truths about Hoshino’s neighborhood, overcome opponents who stand against the festival, and explore the everyday world of her danchi (a Japanese mass housing complex).

But watch out! Some websites are darker. Malevolent, even. Not everyone is as enthusiastic as Hoshino about the festival. Anger and sadness are as much a part of the danchi as joy and laughter.

Hoshino’s kappa sidekick, Moro-Q, will help you find the five offerings needed to revive the summer festival. Along the way, you’ll explore forests and buildings and play “Sense Games”: surprising minigames that might require you to smell trees, hug plushies, or listen to toilets!
