Cinematic single-player adventure RPG .curator announced for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC
From Altered Carbon creator Richard K. Morgan.
STRL Games has announced .curator, a cinematic single-player adventure RPG by Altered Carbon creator Richard K. Morgan. It will launch simultaneously for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. A release date was not announced.
“.curator blends everything we love about games and movies,” said STRTL Games art director Oleksii Plaksin in a press release. “It delivers a cinematic experience that you actively play rather than passively watch. You make the choices, you alter future events—you’re the Curator.”
Plaskin continued, “We are a small studio built around exceptional talent and the determination to deliver something genuinely exciting, something that both our team and players will fall in love with.”
Richard K. Morgan explained, “One of the great things about the games industry is that it’s constantly pushing the boundaries. You know that somewhere there’s always someone working on some cool new stuff you’ve never seen before. So when I got invited into the .curator project by this highly talented bunch of guys, a couple of whom I’d already worked with before, I jumped at the chance. What STRTL are offering here is immersion in real storytelling with real consequences, for both the player and the surrounding characters. In a world of ADHD twitch shooters, violent, unremitting gore, and loud, brightly colored splash and awe, .curator offers something else, something different—a cooler, more thoughtful, more painterly and, ultimately, I think, more humane take on the gaming experience.”
Here is an overview of the game, via STRTL Games:
About
“Across a myriad different ‘braneverse versions of Earth, I have seen Humanity arise, conquer adversity and flourish time after time, only to fail and fall, time after time, wiped out as often as not by its own misguided hand.
“What would you do, what would you give, to stop that final stage, to step in and catch Humanity as it falls? What would you become?
“Make a difference! Join the Curator Corps today!”
.curator is a brand new dynamic adventure game, written by the creator of Altered Carbon, Richard K. Morgan, and brought to life by a seasoned international team under the banner of STRTL Games. Hand-drawn characters and environments, innovative and original gameplay design, a compelling journey to influence and modify the future in a world that responds to the choices you make. .curator is released as an episodic series—purchasing the game grants access to Episode One, with future episodes arriving as separate downloadable content.
