Tangle Tower successor The Mermaid Mask will launch for PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam on July 16, developer SFB Games announced. A demo is available now for PC.
Here is an overview of the game, via SFB Games:
In the pitch-black waters beyond the long-abandoned fishing town of Silkwirm-on-Sea, the enigmatic Captain Magnus Mortuga—rumored to be everything from an immortal time-traveler to a cursed vampire—has been found dead inside a locked room, marked by a single fatal wound with no weapon in sight. At the center of the chamber sits an ancient barnacle-covered cauldron, recently opened and eerily empty except for deep scratches within.
Summoned by the mysterious Captain Seafoam, players step into the shoes of Detective Grimoire and his sharp-tongued sidekick Sally to unravel a mystery that defies logic aboard the world’s strangest submarine. Building on the acclaimed formula of Tangle Tower, The Mermaid Mask combines layered puzzle-solving, eccentric fully voice-acted, hand-animated suspects, and satisfying detective work with SFB Games’ signature blend of dark themes and light-hearted British humor.
Returning to their roles are Edwyn Tiong as Detective Grimoire and Amber Lee Connors as Sally, joined by a cast of voice talent from games, anime, film, and radio, including Tara Langella (Hades II, The Outer Worlds 2), Steven Kearney (SimCity) Justine Leah Hince (Killer Kiss, UnOrdinary), Anairis Quinones (Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World, Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie), Eric Morgan Stuart (Life is Strange, Batman: Caped Crusader), Jacqui Bardelang (Metaphor: ReFantazio, Baldur’s Gate III), and Alex Bankier (Cat’s Eye, Code Geass: Dakkan no Z). The game also features stunning environments by Catherine Unger and a cinematic score by Raphael Benjamin Meyer, performed by the Budapest Art Orchestra.
