Rumor: Baldur’s Gate II remake in development

And perhaps also the original Baldur's Gate.

A remake of Baldur’s Gate II is currently in development under Wizards of the Coast, with co-lead designer Kevin Martens returning for the project, according to a PC Gamer report.

While the report is focused on Baldur’s Gate II, the outlet said the original Baldur’s Gate is also “likely” getting the remake treatment, “from what we’ve heard.”

According to “a source familiar with the project,” Martens is already working on the Baldur’s Gate II remake.

Remastered Enhanced Edition versions of Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II, developed by Beamdog, are currently available for modern consoles and PC.
