Publisher WINGS and developer Malapata Studio have announced Book Nook, a diorama crafting game coming to PC via Steam. A release date was not announced.
“We wanted to create something small in scope but with a strong emotional impact,” said studio director Anabel Sanchez in a press release. “We drew inspiration from our favorite book nooks—those we’ve spent countless hours enjoying without even noticing the time pass—and wanted to make an intimate game that pays tribute to them.”
Here is an overview of the game, via WINGS:
Book Nook is a satisfying game with puzzle elements that celebrates the experience of creating something with your own hands. Piece by piece, Book Nook invites you to build small corners filled with life—placing furniture, decorations, and tiny details until everything fits perfectly. You’ll be carried along by the calm of creation, discovering how each diorama transports you to a special memory.
What makes this game particularly special is that every Book Nook has a story to tell, through which we meet Dario and Elora. Their story is told from childhood to old age, exploring love, family, and the people who are always there to hold our hand.
Following Camper Van: Make it Home, Malapata Studio continues its commitment to carefully crafted aesthetics and relaxing experiences. This time, the studio incorporates puzzle elements that make the assembly process the heart of the game.
Once again, Book Nook is supported by Wings Fund Me, an investment fund specializing in supporting women-led game studios, which previously partnered with Malapata Studio on Camper Van: Make it Home. Their continued support allows the team to keep developing projects with their own creative vision.
