A new set of trailers was also released. The “Strength and Darkness” trailer reveals new playable characters Fraux and Fediel, as well as the new foe The World. The “Summons and the Conflux” trailer introduces the Summons and Conflux systems. Here are the details, via Cygames:
■ Introducing Two New Playable Characters and One New Enemy
Fraux and Fediel round out Endless Ragnarok‘s cast of new playable characters, bringing the total to six. Including returning characters from Relink, players can choose from a whopping twenty-nine characters to play as, each boasting their own unique playstyle. When the time comes to face archenemies like The World, players will definitely have strength in numbers.
◆ Playable Characters
Fraux (voiced by Kelly Baskin in English, Azumi Asakura in Japanese) – Striking Strength
Pactbearer to The Devil, a primal seeking to create a new world order, Fraux is otherwise an ordinary skydweller whose heart, character, and temperament are filled with love and compassion.
Fediel (voiced by Savy Des-Etages in English, Asami Tano in Japanese) – Darkness Personified
Fediel is one of the Six Dragons, entities who exist beyond the confines of the natural world. Having dominion over darkness, she influences the very laws of nature.
◆ Enemy
The World (voiced by Kellen Goff in English, Atsushi Ono in Japanese) – Inchoate World
One of the Arcarum, The World is the plinth and pillar to which the other Arcarum are tied. Originally created by the Astrals in ancient times, it eventually evolved to a state of self-awareness and self-actualization, developing its own identity.
■ Introducing Summons
◆ Summons Add Another Layer to Battles
As Endless Ragnarok‘s story progresses, players will gain the ability to equip summons and call them onto the battlefield. Some summons can be briefly controlled while others grant buffs to the party.
Equipped summons grant passive bonuses, providing yet another way to enhance a character’s abilities.
Compared to other controllable summons, some—such as Lucilius and Rolan, introduced in the preview video—have much greater combat capabilities. These powerful summons control more like playable characters.
◆ Unique Controllable Summons
Lucilius (voiced by Sean Chiplock in English, Takahiro Sakurai in Japanese) – Primal Progenitor
A researcher gifted with extraordinary intelligence, Lucilius is an Astral who fomented insurrection against the gods. His head was transplanted onto the body of Lucifer, his masterpiece of a primal beast, granting him all-consuming power.
Rolan (voivrd by Sean Chiplock in English, Hiroshi Kamiya in Japanese) – Transient Mr. Fix-It
A proper gentleman who calls the westerly skies home. The first time you meet him is purely by happenstance, but he decides to travel with you for the moment.
◆ Add a Final Stroke with a Primal Burst
Lyria herself can summon a primal beast to blast foes with a powerful follow-up attack called a primal burst. It’s a two-step process: Lyria becomes ready to summon when the party enters link time. Then, once all four party members execute a full burst by using their Skybound Arts in succession, Lyria will summon a primal beast for an extra burst of damage.
◆ When and Where Can Summons Be Used?
After completing Relink’s main story and advancing further into Endless Ragnarok‘s story, players will eventually gain access to Chaos-difficulty quests. Summons can only be used in quests rated Chaos or higher.
■ Delving into the Conflux
◆ What Is the Conflux?
The Conflux is a new single-player mode that features a gauntlet of randomly shuffled areas where players fight monsters and make strategic choices to reach the end.
Players enter the Conflux through mysterious gateways located in Seedhollow and Tredame Sanctum. After clearing an area in the Conflux, players choose which area to proceed to next. Before entering the new area, they’ll select a special power-up that stays active until exiting the Conflux, offering an all-new way to play the game.
◆ Rewards for Clearing the Conflux
In order to complete a run in the Conflux, players must defeat a boss that lurks in the final area, which bestows a wealth of materials for upgrading weapons and sigils. Players itching for solo adventures or to enhance their characters need look no further than the Conflux.
◆ Conflux Variety and Unique Power-Ups
Each entry into the Conflux changes the ordering of the areas. However, not all areas have combat-focused objectives. Some contain only treasure chests; in others, players may encounter rare monsters.
Playing through the Conflux rewards Conflux points and Resonance points, which can be spent to acquire helpful power-ups. These power-ups only take effect in the Conflux.
◆ Accessing the Conflux
The Conflux first becomes available in chapter 6, and it expands after certain events in the main story. Deeper depths present deadlier challenges but also greater rewards. With each venture into the Conflux, characters will always become a little stronger.
