Thick As Thieves now a single-player and co-op-focused game
New gameplay trailer set for Triple-i Initiative on April 9.
Thick As Thieves, the Megabit-published multiplayer stealth game from Warren Spector first announced in December 2024, is now a single-player and two-player cooperative play-focused game, developer OtherSide Entertainment said in an update.
After nearly a year-and-a-half of silence, a new gameplay trailer will debut at Triple-i Initiative on April 9.
Here is the full message from OtherSide Entertainment:
Fellow Thieves,
We’re just under two weeks away from the Triple-I Initiative on [April 9]! At the show, we’ll be lifting the veil on Thick as Thieves‘ brand-new gameplay trailer alongside some other well-guarded secrets. But before all that, we want to share an update.
When we first revealed Thick as Thieves we intended to focus on [player-versus-player-versus-environment] gameplay. However, as development progressed and the world of Kilcairn has come to life, we found that we were having more fun with solo and [cooperative] play.
So, we’ve taken a decision we feel is right for the game: Thick as Thieves is now focused on two-player [cooperative play] and single-player.
This sharpened focus has allowed us to double down on what makes Thick as Thieves truly special—dynamic stealth gameplay. We’re already seeing how this has strengthened the moment-to-moment action, whether you’re playing solo or with a partner in [cooperative play]. We’ve had some fantastic moments while testing the game. Now we’re putting all our energy into making things even better as we build up to launch.
We’re so excited show you more of Thick as Thieves at the Triple-i Initiative. In the meantime, come and chat all things Thick as Thieves with us in our official Discord server.
Your partners in crime,
OtherSide Entertainment
Thick As Thieves is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in 2026.
