Multiplayer party game Task Time is now available in Early Access for PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, publisher Wired Productions and developer ReadGraves announced. It is completely free to play for the first 48 hours as a limited-time celebration.
The Early Access version launches with a PEAK crossover, letting players unlock the “Bing Bong” character as cosmetics in-game.
“We didn’t want a traditional launch,” said Wired Productions co-founder and managing director Leo Zullo in a press release. “Task Time is built on surprise, chaos, and pure mayhem, so it made sense to launch it the same way. Dropping it live and making it free for 48 hours gives players the perfect excuse to jump in, grab some friends, and start ruining relationships immediately.”
ReadGraves creator Sam Read-Graves added, “We encourage players to embrace the jank, if only because we’ve made no serious attempt to remove it. The game works best when you meet it halfway.”
Here is an overview of the game, via Wired Productions:
Task Time is a gameshow-inspired competitive party game where eight friends dive headfirst into six rounds of unpredictable tasks and physics-fueled chaos, to finish top of the leaderboard. From (some of) the people who worked on Gang Beasts and Fall Guys, this is your new favorite friendslop.
Charge into unbridled mayhem, completing unhinged tasks that let you shrink your friends, steal all their stuff, and then watch them fall into lava! You might win or you might completely flop, but hey, there (probably) won’t be any real-life consequences. Of course, nothing is fair, but that’s exactly the point.
Task Time is easy to pick up, impossible to master, and way too much fun to put down. With half a million randomized tasks, no two rounds ever play out the same. So, even the clumsiest player can pull off an absurd and glorious comeback.
Whether you embrace sabotage, survival, or pure mischief, Task Time promises non-stop hilarious moments that test your friendships and maybe even your sanity!
