Retro Soulslike action game Memoirium will launch for PC via Steam on August 13, publisher Outersloth and developer GoldenGratus announced.
“Memoirium is a testament to my love of games and video game narratives,” said GoldenGratus founder Paolo Villanueva in a press release. “No generative AI was used. This is a passion project that showcases my love of the soulslike genre and I can’t wait for everyone to experience this otherworldly title meant to help you ponder the existence of both the dreams you cherish and the dreams you fear.”
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
In Memoirium, everything is but sand and stars.
Traverse a chaotic and crumbling realm of dreams composed of liminal spaces. Adapt to the world’s odd rules as a Dreamer, and defy others like you to escape the strange and eclectic subconscious landscape.
Dream, defy, decorate.
Peculiar Locations
The realm of dreams throws all reason to the wayside. In one moment, you will find yourself in a simple 21st-century school, and in the next, your eyes will fall upon a castle held together by wax.
Masks and More
Most, if not every piece of equipment will alter your abilities and the entities you encounter. One set of armor influences how long negative statuses last, while a specific mask changes how enemies approach you in combat. Every item serves a purpose.
Consumed Now, but Not Forever
Put items to good use, as they will not disappear when consumed. Instead, items are fully replenished at certain points in your journey. Collecting the same item multiple times will upgrade it, but even equipment found in the realm of dreams has its limits.
Your Room
There also appears to be a mysterious location that you have control of in the dream world. Decorate this area of quiet reflection using goods found throughout your journey across the realm of dreams.
