Publisher Silver Lining Games and developer Square Glade Games have delayed open-world camper van exploration game Outbound from its previously planned April 23 release date May 14, the companies announced. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
Update 04/30/26: The Xbox Series and PC versions of Outbound will now launch three days earlier on May 11, in response to Subnautica 2 launching in Early Access on the versions’ original release date, Silver Lining Games announced. The PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Switch versions will still launch on May 14.
“We’ve had to make the difficult decision to delay Outbound to May 14,” said Square Glade Games in a press release. “Late in the process, an issue has been identified that could negatively impact your enjoyment of the game. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough time to still guarantee a release across all platforms on the originally planned date. Please be assured that our team has worked extremely hard to address this and did everything possible to stay on schedule. We know that you may be disappointed by this news, but appreciate your understanding and believe the delay will result in a more polished, bug-free experience.”
As an apology for the delay, the demo currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC will remain available for an extended period, until May 12.
