70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X adds remastered vs. original toggle
Witness the original staff's dedication to detail.
70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X will include a feature to switch between the game’s newly remastered and original 1999 visuals, publisher Bliss Brain and developer Implicit Conversion announced.
Here are the details:
One of the new features we are most proud to include is the addition of a high-definition remastered version of the animations, digitized directly from the Betacam tapes delivered by the animation studio.
Following the announcement, we received requests from fans who shared that they would love to see the original version of the animations as well. We agree that this is important, especially in the name of preservation, so we have decided to include a feature that allows players to switch between the remastered and original movie versions. This feature will be included in the base game and will not be released as downloadable content.
We invite you to experience the unique atmosphere of the original production, which packed 8,000 hand-drawn animation cels onto four CD-ROMs. Please note that some scenes in the original version were modified by the development team from the Betacam animation, and therefore may differ slightly from the remastered version, which remains faithful to the original Betacam source. We hope you will discover and enjoy the details and creative touches the development team carefully crafted.
70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on July 16.
