Nippon Ichi Software has released a new trailer for rural life simulation game Hono Gurashi no Niwa introducing the game’s “Safe Living Mode”—a mode for players who simply want to enjoy “life simulation” without any scary things occurring in between.
The protagonist begins their rural life in Kagatsu Village, a settlement deep in the mountains. The village has “rules” passed down from ancient times, and breaking these rules could result in something dreadful. But by selecting “Safe Living Mode” at the start of the game, players can enjoy a safe and worry-free rural life in Kagatsu Village without breaking any rules.
Hono Gurashi no Niwa is due out for PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam on July 30, 2026 in Japan.
