The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is actually two games in one, publisher Aniplex and developers Too Kyo Games and Media.Vision announced. The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy depicts the first 100 days of your school life, while The Hundred Line 2 depicts the 100 days that follow. While this structure has been in the game since its launch in 2025, Aniplex and Too Kyo Games are now officially acknowledging it as a “1&2” pack containing the first game and its sequel.
To commemorate the acknowledgement, Too Kyo Games shared the following new artwork illustrated by Rui Komatsuzaki:
In Japan, a special physical edition of the game for Switch, featuring a slipcase with the new artwork, will be available exclusively via Aniplex Online Store and Amazon Japan. It will launch on April 24 in celebration of the game’s first anniversary.
An upcoming update will enable players to start The Hundred Line 2 without clear data for The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. Starting the sequel unlocks the “Chapter Select” feature, allowing players to freely move to the start of any date, or to points before or after branching paths. With 100 possible endings, players can aim to experience every ending.
Aniplex also announced it will release The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy Original Soundtrack, containing 112 tracks, via streaming platforms on January 17. A physical “Director’s Edition” containing 88 tracks selected by composer Masafumi Takada, including songs not featured in the digital version, will be available on April 24 in Japan.
Too Kyo Games plans to announce additional information regarding The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy on January 16 at 1:00 a.m. PT / 4:00 a.m. ET / 18:00 JST. The teaser text suggests it plans to hold some sort of event in 100 days. (Update 01/16/26 at 4:00 a.m.: Too Kyo Games has announced “The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy 1st Anniversary Class Festival,” an event celebrating one year since the game’s release, will be held on April 26 at Nikkei Hall in Tokyo.
