Yakuza / Like a Dragon series 20th anniversary concept video
A story of unchanging beliefs in an ever-changing world.
Publisher SEGA and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have released two-minute “concept video” in celebration of the Yakuza / Like a Dragon series’ 20th anniversary.
The first entry in the series, Yakuza, launched for PlayStation 2 on December 8, 2005 in Japan. It would go on to receive eight main entries, including several remakes and remasters, as well as numerous spin-off titles. A Japanese movie and an Amazon Prime television series were also created.
The latest entry in the series, Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, is due out for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam on February 12, 2026
The 20th anniversary concept video follows the story of a young man throughout his career, inspired by quotes from Yakuza series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu along the way.
