PS5 shipments top 84.2 million; Ghost of Yotei sales top 3.3 million

PlayStation 5 has shipped 84.2 million units worldwide, Sony announced in its financial results for the three months ended September 30, 2025.

A total of 3.9 million PlayStation 5 units were shipped during the three months ended September 30, 2025, which is up 0.1 million from the same period the previous fiscal year.

Here are a couple of additional statistics:

• There are 119 million monthly active users on PlayStation Network as of September 30, 2025, which is up three million from the same period the previous fiscal year.
• PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 software combined sold 80.3 million units during the three months ended September 30, 2025, which is up 2.6 million from  the same period the previous fiscal year. 6.3 million units were first-party titles, which is up one million from the same period the previous fiscal year. 72 percent of software sales were full game software digital downloads, which is up two percent from the same period the previous fiscal year.
• Ghost of Yotei has sold-through 3.3 million units as of November 2, 2025 (32 days after release).
