Remedy Entertainment CEO Tero Virtala steps down
Company co-founder Markus Maki to serve as interim CEO.
Tero Virtala has stepped down as CEO of Remedy Entertainment, effective immediately, and Markus Maki will serve as interim CEO as the company initiates its search for a new CEO, the company announced.
Virtala served as CEO of Remedy Entertainment since August 2016.
Maki is one of the of the founders of Remedy Entertainment. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1995, and acted as the Chairman of the Board until his appointment as interim CEO. He is also a member of the company’s core management team responsible for production. Following his appointment as interim CEO, Maki will step down as Chairman of the Board and continue as an ordinary Board member. Henri Osterlund, who has been a member of the Board since 2017, will act as the new Chairman.
“I want to thank Tero Virtala for his substantial contribution to the management of Remedy since 2016,” Maki said in a press release. “I personally thank Tero for good cooperation and wish him all the best for the future.”
