The “Aftershock” expansion pack for Ion Fury will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on October 16 for $14.99 / €14.99, publishers 3D Realms and Fulqrum Publishing, and developer Voidpoint announced.

Here is an overview of the expansion, via 3D Realms:
High-Speed Action Continues
“Aftershock” picks up moments after defeating Dr. Jadus Heskel, as Shelly’s celebration is interrupted by explosions and her nemesis escaping in a monstrous flying machine. Armed with her signature Loverboy revolver and commandeering a heavily weaponized Roadripper hoverbike, Shelly embarks on her most dangerous mission through brand-new zones filled with enhanced enemies and devastating weapons.
Console-Optimized Features
The console version features enhanced controller support for precise aiming, redesigned UI for an optimal console presentation and streamlined navigation tailored for gamepad input. The Nintendo Switch version delivers smooth performance at 720p resolution at 60 frames per second in handheld mode and 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second when docked to the TV. The revolutionary high-speed vehicle combat has been specifically optimized for console controllers, featuring refined handling mechanics and enhanced visual feedback for smooth gameplay across all platforms.
Substantial Content Package
“Aftershock” delivers thirteen new levels across five distinct zones, plus entirely new enemy types and weapons including the devastating Cluster Shot launcher. The expansion also introduces Arrange Mode—a complete remix of the original Ion Fury campaign with mirrored levels, modified enemy placements, and integrated “Aftershock” content throughout.
Build Engine Excellence
Rendered in the legendary Build Engine that powered Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior, “Aftershock” maintains authentic ’90s aesthetics while incorporating advanced lighting effects and seamless vehicle integration. Console optimization ensures stable performance across all platforms, with Nintendo Switch featuring additional battery life optimizations.
Ion Fury is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam and GOG.
