Rain World downloadable content “The Watcher” will for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on September 25 alongside the content’s version 1.5 update and a major update for the base game, publisher Akupara Games and developer VIDEOCULT announced.
The console version of the downloadable content was originally planned to launch alongside the PC version on March 28, but was delayed.
The version 1.5 update for “The Watcher” will feature multiple new regions, creatures, items, mechanics, characters, paths (and endings), plus a “multitude” of new art and music.
The major update for the base game will feature over 50 new Arena maps, full Arena Mode and Jolly Co-Op support for “The Watcher,” and retroactive Jolly Co-op support for ALL five “Downpour” campaigns.
Here is an overview of the content, via Akpuara Games:
Released on PC earlier this year, console players have been quietly waiting for their chance to slither through the Watcher’s murky, warped waters. Hide in the shade, wiggle through the dark, and shift between realities as the Watcher decides the fate of a newfound slugcat. What will it take to stay in the shadows?
In addition to the console port, Videocult is excited to release “The Watcher” 1.5! This update brings multiple new regions to explore, new creatures, items, mechanics, new characters, new paths (and endings), plus a multitude of new pieces of art and music.
Beyond “The Watcher” campaign, Rain World itself will be getting major improvements with “The Watcher” including: over 50 new Arena maps, full Arena Mode and Jolly Co-op support for “The Watcher,” and retroactive Jolly Co-Op support for ALL five “Downpour” campaigns. Players can also expect numerous gameplay tweaks, patches, and quality-of-life updates.
Rain World is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
