The Exit 8 sales top two million

Movie-themed box art covers being distributed at Japanese retailers.

Total sales for anomaly escape game The Exit 8 have surpassed two million copies, publisher PLAYISM and developer KOTAKE CREATE announced.

The Exit 8 first launched for PC via Steam on November 29, 2023, followed by Switch on April 17, 2024, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on August 8, 2024, Xbox Series on January 8, 2025, iOS and Android on March 27, 2025, and Switch 2 today.

A live-action movie based on the game also premiered in Japanese theaters today, and is planned for an early 2026 theatrical release in the western world.

To celebrate the movie’s release in Japan, a limited quantity of movie-inspired box art covers for the physical PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch versions of The Exit 8 are currently being distributed at retailers nationwide.
