Total sales for action adventure game Control have surpassed five million units, developer Remedy Entertainment announced. Over 19 million users have played the game.
Control launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store on August 27, 2019, followed by PC via Steam on August 27, 2020, Switch (cloud) and Luna on October 30, 2020, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on February 2, 2021, and Stadia on July 27, 2021.
Remedy Entertainment also provided brief updates on Control 2 and Max Payne 1 & 2, which are currently in development:
Control 2 development is on track towards meeting its next milestones. The focus is now on the gameplay, environments, and missions. Work continues on developing the game into a strong commercial offering.
The Max Payne 1 & 2 remake project continues its progress and remains in full production. In the second quarter, the team built on steady momentum from earlier in the year. Collaboration with Rockstar Games remains close and productive, ensuring alignment as the project advances toward its next major phase.
