Wander Stars adds PS5 and Xbox Series versions, delayed to September 19
No longer due out on August 1.
Publisher Fellow Traveller and developer Paper Castle have delayed 90s anime-inspired turn-based RPG Wander Stars from its previously planned August 1 release date to September 19, as well as announced that it will also be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series alongside its previously announced Switch and PC (Steam) versions.
Here is the full message from Paper Castle on the delay:
Hey there,
First of all, we want to thank those of you who participated in the open beta for Wander Stars. We truly value every bit of feedback and ideas that you have shared with us, but it has also made it very clear that we need more time to truly deliver the game we wanted to make from the start.
We heard you loud and clear—the [user interface] is broken in many places and often confusing. The combat bugs can ruin the fun, and the balancing is a bit wacky starting from Episode 2 onwards.
So based on your feedback, we have decided to take a bit more time to polish, balance, and take care of the bugs currently hindering the game. We’ve also been working on overdrive to meet our previous deadline, so taking a bit more time will not only make the game better overall, but it is also necessary for us to take care of our wellbeing as we approach the finish line.
And in an Underhero-like twist of events, Wander Stars is now launching on September 19. That’s right, on the seventh anniversary of our previous game Underhero!
That’s a very long time, and we are truly thankful for your patience with us and for being here all these years. We really think the wait will be worth it, and we can’t wait to share the final and improved version of Wander Stars with all of you.
Lots of love,
Paper Castle Team
