Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II anime announced [Update: Teaser trailer]
CD Projekt RED and studio TRIGGER reunite.
CD Projekt RED and studio TRIGGER have announced Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II, a standalone anime series set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II follows Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which aired across 10 episodes in 2022 to critical acclaim.
The sequel series’ staff includes:
- Director: Kai Ikarashi (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, SSSS.Gridman) – directorial debut
- Showrunner / Story Writer / Producer: Bartosz Sztybor
- Lead Character Designer: Kanno Ichigo (Promare, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners)
- Screenplay Adaptation: Masahiko Otsuka (Gurren Lagann, Promare)
“David’s story might be over, but there’s plenty more to discover in Night City,” said Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II showrunner, story writer, and producer Bartosz Sztybor at Anime Expo 2025. “And to again have the legendary animation studio TRIGGER along for the ride makes us at CD Projekt RED so excited to introduce a raw, real chronicle of redemption and revenge, something unlike what we’ve done before.”
Attendees of today’s “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners – Behind the Scenes With its Creators,” where Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II was announced, were invited to a closed-door viewing of new teaser footage during studio TRIGGER’s panel later in the evening.
