Nihon Falcom founder Masayuki Kato dies at age 78

Masayuki Kato, the founder, chairman, and former president of The Legend of Heroes and Ys series developer Nihon Falcom, passed away at the age of 78 on December 15, Falcom announced.

Kato was born on August 19, 1946, and founded Falcom in March 1981 at the age of 34. He served as president since the company’s founding, but became a chairman in 2001.

A wake and funeral will be held for close relatives only. A memorial gathering is planned to be held a a later date, with details to be determined.
