Developer TomorrowHead Studio has announced first-person narrative adventure game WILL: Follow The Light for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (Steam). It will launch in 2025.

“We have been working together on WILL for more than two years, so today’s announcement is an exciting moment for our team,” said TomorrowHead Studio founder and game director Roman Novikov in a press release. “At TomorrowHead, we are inspired by some of the best games in the genre and what they do so well—Firewatch‘s feeling of escape and loneliness… Alan Wake‘s visuals and atmosphere—and we have invested deeply in art and technology to bring players a narrative adventure that will see players exploring the world in a whole new way. We’re looking forward to revealing more later this year.”

Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:

About

Dive into a realistic, single-player, first-person journey through the harsh northern latitudes as you sail endless waters, searching for a way back to your loved ones. Will you follow the light?

Dramatic Storyline

Uncover a narrative that will captivate you until the very end. WILL: Follow The Light, crafted by the young indie studio TomorrowHead, is an adventure story game that strives to push the boundaries of the genre. An escapism-themed plot takes inspiration from the game Firewatch, while the visuals and atmosphere are influenced by Alan Wake. WILL: Follow The Light features unusual but intuitive game mechanics against an enthralling backdrop of epic northern scenery. You will find yourself sailing between remote islands and uncharted waters.

Learn more about your own nature while exploring a variety of meaningful locations, from the rugged Nordic shores to the icy and stormy northern sea. The plot is filled with puzzles and mysterious elements related to your relatives, drawing you in and keeping you eager to unveil the next layer of the story until harsh reality drags you back. WILL‘s story revisits the timeless dilemma between fathers and sons and will thus reflect on you deeply. This emotional roller coaster will carry you through wild thunderstorms, the ringing silence of loneliness, and the importance of caring for your loved ones.
