Genshin Impact version 4.6 update ‘Two Worlds Aflame, the Crimson Night Fade’ launches April 24
Arlecchino joins the fray. The version 4.6 update for Genshin Impact, dubbed “Two Worlds Aflame, the Crimson Night Fade,” will launch on April 24, developer miHoYo announced.
Here is an overview of the update, via miHoYo:
Players can anticipate Arlecchino, the fourth Fatui Harbinger emerging as a recruitable team member and a Weekly Boss. Across the world of Teyvat, a new explorable area with a long-lost underwater empire will finally be revealing itself in Fontaine, while a music festival and a new rhythm game event are set to rock participants in Inazuma.
Arlecchino, known as the “Knave” and Fourth of the Fatui Harbingers, will meet players again as a playable 5-star Pyro polearm wielder and a new Weekly Boss. As a teammate, Arlecchino’s combat skills are centered around “Bond of Life,” a mechanic that is supposed to prevent its victim from being healed, but that Arlecchino manages to take advantage of to enhance her attack power. Arlecchino may gain a “Bond of Life” bar above her health bar, and when the Bond is equal to or greater than a certain percentage of her health, she will take on an offensive state, granting her Normal Attacks greater strength and non-overridable Pyro damage by consuming her Bond of Life. To maintain sufficient Bond of Life, Arlecchino can impose and collect Blood-Debt Directives on her enemies. Meanwhile, due to her unique Talent, her Elemental Burst will be the only way that she can receive healing effects during combat.
As a new Weekly Boss, Arlecchino will impose a Blood-Debt Directive on players who challenge her. Players who have had a Blood-Debt Directive imposed upon them will suffer from the Bond of Life effect, taking more damage from her attacks and being unable to be healed. Those who manage to repay the Debt will be rewarded with a boost to their Charged Attack. In addition, Arlecchino is also called “Father” by children in the House of the Hearth. More about the House and Arlecchino will be revealed in her Story Quest “Ignis Purgatorius.”

Arlecchino will join the first half of the Version 4.6 Event Wishes alongside Lyney’s rerun, followed by Wanderer and Baizhu in the second half. The new 5-star polearm “Crimson Moon’s Semblance” will also feature in the first half of Version 4.6, focusing on combat abilities revolving around Bond of Life.
For adventure seekers, Version 4.6 also ushers in a new area with a large mysterious underwater empire waiting to be explored. Deep in the Sea of Bygone Eras lies the remains of Remuria, an empire whose heyday and subsequent destruction predates the birth of the Court of Fontaine. Learning its “Symphony” will be key to reactivating certain mechanics and millennia-old devices. As the adventure goes on, players may even meet a certain special dragon, as well as confront the new Boss Enemy “Legatus Golem.”
On Inazuma’s Watatsumi Island, players will be able to help Itto prepare for the “Iridescent Arataki Rockin’ for Life Tour de Force of Awesomeness,” as well as enjoy a new rhythm game event. Players will also be able to edit their own rhythm games and invite friends to challenge them via sharing codes. As a reward, they will stand a chance of getting their hands on the brand-new instrument “Nightwind Horn.”

Arlecchino As Playable And Enemy + The Bond Of Life Mechanic Explained
In the main story of Fontaine, Arlecchino made an indelible debut even without showing her hand, balancing the fine line between ally and adversary. Upon Version 4.6, we can discover more about the power she possesses, the roles she plays, and the past that made her who she is today.
As the fourth Harbinger of the Fatui, Arlecchino aka “the Knave” shows an overwhelming strength in combat with the use of Pyro, a polearm, and a special mechanic—the “Bond of Life.” First found in some Fatui Operatives and certain weapon effects around Fontaine, the “Bond of Life” effect stays on its target and prevents healing until the victim receives the same amount of healing equal to the Bond of Life. However, Arlecchino is able to utilize the “Bond of Life” on herself to strengthen her own attack.
When Arlecchino becomes a member of your team, how to pile up her Bond of Life with her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst is the key to surviving and sustaining an efficient offensive rhythm. When Arlecchino has a Bond of Life greater than or equal to a certain percentage of her health bar, she will enter a “Masque of the Red Death” state, converting her Normal, Charged, and Plunging attacks to nonoverridable Pyro damage and consuming a portion of her current Bond of Life to deal more Normal Attack damage and reduce her Elemental Skill cooldown. Arlecchino’s Elemental Skill can apply Blood-Debt Directives and damage on multiple targets, and the Blood-Debt Directives can be absorbed to increase her Bond of Life when she uses a Charged Attack or heal herself when she uses her Elemental Burst. And her Elemental Burst is the only way to heal herself in combat due to her unique Talent.
If you encounter the Knave as your enemy in the new Trounce Domain, how to out-healing the Bond of Life and repay the Blood-Debt Directives she applies to you will be crucial to victory. With the Bond of Life active on you, all her attacks against you will be enhanced. But if you manage to out-heal the Bond of Life and repay the Debt, you will be rewarded as your Charged Attacks against her are enhanced. As the fight proceeds to later phases, the Knave will gradually reveal more of her true power as her crimson bone wings unfold. Travelers who are Adventure Rank 40 or higher can now challenge her directly via a Quick Start in Adventurer’s Handbook, or follow her Story Quest to raise the challenge.
Despite being a ruthless Fatui Harbinger with a horrifying power, Arlecchino is also called “Father” by the children from the House of the Hearth with great trust and respect. The House of the Hearth is a Fatui intelligence organization operated by The Knave. It takes in children who no longer have a home due to all manner of reasons, and teach them a variety of disciplines. In Arlecchino’s Story Quest “Ignis Purgatorius,” you may find out the unique charm of the character and why she is called “the Father” in her past.
Arlecchino and Lyney may be recruited in the first half of Version 4.6 Event Wishes, followed by Wanderer and Baizhu in the second half. In addition, the new weapon “Crimson Moon’s Semblance,” a 5-star polearm that enhances the combat ability regarding the Bond of Life, will also become available in the first half of Version 4.6.
New Map Area in Fontaine With World Quest Series
Venturing southeast from Romaritime Harbor nestles a small village named Petrichor. Here begins a new adventure to discover the fabled Kingdom of Remuria, a once thriving realm now cradled by deep water, slumbering soundlessly with its narrative lost to the waves. Ruled by King Remus, Remuria mysteriously disappeared in history, well before the establishment of the Court of Fontaine.
However, strange occurrences started to emerge in Petrichor recently. Led by a talking cat, we’ll navigate through the sunken castle and dive into an enchanting and vibrant deep-sea area “Sea of Bygone Eras” to unveil the truth behind the kingdom’s fall. Even a mysterious dragon of dreamy appearance will await silently ahead.
King Remus also composed a “Symphony,” carried with wondrous power that Travelers may use to unleash special soundwaves, resonating with a variety of swaying or wandering underwater creatures and mysterious mechanics during the adventure. Meanwhile, another boss enemy “Legatus Golem,” a centaur-shaped enemy awaits in the recess of the Faded Castles with a sword, shield, and a blazing melody of flames.
Genshin Impact is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC via client and Epic Games Store, iOS via the App Store, and Android via Google Play. A Switch version is also planned.
