Publisher Netmarble and developer Netmarble N2 have released new information, footage, and screenshots for massively multiplayer online RPG RF ONLINE NEXT at G-Star 2023, which will run from today until November 19 at Busan Exhibition and Convention Center in South Korea.
Get the details below.
The battles in RF ONLINE NEXT are based on science-fiction motifs and provide a unique combat experience compared to other fantasy games. Combatants can choose one of six unique biosuits to enjoy high-octane, skill-based battles. Players can also freely switch between biosuits based on the battle situation. The game also features the ability to summon giant robots to assist in battles or to pilot it into battle.
In addition, RF ONLINE NEXT offers a free-flight system that includes altitude changes, boosts, dynamic landings, and hovering. This allows players to quickly move around and explore the world, and can also be used as a strategic element to bolster the overall RF experience.
Cooperative Missions to Defeat World Bosses and Large-Scale Realm vs. Realm Battles
Many large-scale bosses appear throughout the world of RF ONLINE NEXT. Players will be able to utilize their biosuit piloting skills, giant robot summons, and other players to confront these bosses cooperatively. The game will also feature Realm vs Realm elements emphasized by the previous entry in the RF franchise, allowing players to engage in large-scale battles for key resources.
■ G-Star 2023 Demo Introduction
Hands-On Experience With RF ONLINE NEXT‘s Core Gameplay
In the G-STAR 2023 demo build, RF ONLINE NEXT presents Story Mode, where users can unravel the story of the main character through high-quality cutscenes, and Event Mode (Monster Wave), which lets players select event cards with various objectives to break time records.
Story Mode: Experience a Narrative Based on the Original RF Universe
Story Mode begins with graphic footage of the protagonist’s childhood. The experience then jumps forward to the protagonist’s adult life, where he meets and interacts with key figures in the Novas faction, battling to settle the crisis facing the region. Along the way, users will be able to grow and utilize biosuit skills and can also hop into a giant robot to engage in climatic, cinematic battles.
Players should not miss out on a single second of the story, as key characters from the previous RF might even show up—along with a mysterious super-giant summoner.
Event Mode features a total of eight waves of battles set in a specialized arena with portals spilling forth monstrous beasts. After selecting the mode, players will enter the battle by choosing one of three biosuits available in the G-Star 2023 demo and defeat the monsters using the biosuit’s explosive abilities.
Players will be able to select a randomly generated card that modifies the biosuit’s abilities and stats after each wave is placed, with 40 seconds to make a decision at the end of a particular wave. Users will also get to select a giant robot, and they can either fight alongside the summoned robot or pilot the robot to defeat the monsters.
RF ONLINE NEXT is due out for PC, iOS, and Android in 2024.
