R-Type Final 2 – 2021 updates roadmap announced

Update to R-Type Final 3 due by the end of the year.

Granzella has announced the 2021 roadmap of updates for R-Type Final 2, including the reveal that the game will be updated to R-Type Final 3 by the end of 2021.

Here is the full roadmap:

June to Early July

  • Downloadable content “Stage Pass Set 3” release
  • R-Aircaft Album
  • Improve the usability of R’s Museum
  • Add player ships: TP-2S, TP-2M, TP-2H

Early Summer

  • Add player ships: Mecha player ships, Dantalion
  • Improve the operability of the PC version
  • Ranking functions
  • Add data: gallery, decals, costumes, aircraft biography

Late Summer

  • Add player ships: Bydo series fighters, Ultimate fighters, R-902, new fighters
  • Add stages: Branches to different stages will also be added to the first half of the mission.
  • Add data: gallery, decals, costumes, aircraft biography

Fall to End of 2021

  • Downloadable content Stage Pass Vol. 2
  • Update to R-Type Final 3 (provisional) (free update for those who own R-Type Final 2)

R-Type Final 2 is available now for Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.
