PS5 Japanese hands-on videos – Hardware, controller, Astro’s Playroom, Balan Wonderworld, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition, and Godfall

First live look at PlayStation 5.

Japanese media and several popular Japanese YouTube creators have gone up first hands-on videos of PlayStation 5, including a first look at the actual hardware and DualSense wireless controller, and live gameplay of Astro’s Playroom, Balan Wonderworld, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition, and Godfall.

New information has also surfaced. According to AV Watch, the “X” button is the official confirmation button of PlayStation 5 worldwide. While this was standard for PlayStation users outside of Japan and Asia, the confirmation button was previously the “Circle” button in those regions. A Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia spokesperson implied that this was to avoid situations where the confirmation button would change when operating the system and playing games from other countries.

Additionally, 4Gamer.net and Degenki Online reported on the PlayStation 5 hardware’s low noise:

4Gamer.net played Godfall in a room that was about 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit). The wind from the exhaust port was gentle and you could barely hear anything that sounded like a fan spinning.
Dengeki Online said that the quietness of the fan was more of a surprise than the high-speed loading. It was extremely quiet.

PlayStation 5 will launch on November 12 in the United States, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea, and November 19 in the rest of the world including Europe, Middle East, South America, Asia, and South Africa. Read more here.
