Rain Games has announced Teslagrad 2, a sequel to the December 2013-released Teslagrad. Platforms and a release date were not announced.

Teslagrad 2 is an exploration-based Metroidvania game with magnetic physics-based mechanics and additions that set it apart from its predecessor. It is set in the Norway-inspired region of Wyrmheim, which is shaped from the foundation up by Viking carvings and Nordic runes. Visually, the style is the same as the original Teslagrad.

Teslagrad was our first game as an indie team and the response was amazing,” said Rain Games’ Peter Meldahl in a statement. “From then on, fans have been asking us about a sequel, and it has never been far from my mind.”

Meldahl continued, “This game has been rattling at the back of my mind for six years while we’ve been working on our games, I’ve hoarded the best ideas from those years to use for Teslagrad 2.”

Further information was not announced.
