The Falconeer

Open-world air combat RPG Falconeer will launch for Xbox Series X as a launch title for the console alongside its previously announced Xbox One and PC (Steam) versions, publisher Wired Productions and developer Tomas Sala announced during the Xbox Games Showcase pre-show.

The Xbox Series X version will support a minimum of 4K resolution at 60 frames per second and High Dynamic Range. It will also support Smart Delivery, ensuring consumers will only need to purchase the game once to play it on either Xbox One or Xbox Series X.

The Falconeer Day One Edition is available to pre-order now at the Wired Productions Store and participating retailers for $39.99 / €39.99 / £34.99. It includes a custom reversible sleeve, lenticular card, sticker sheet, a digital download of the official soundtrack and a digital game guide.

“Having worked closely with the Xbox team over the past year, The Falconeer has found a natural home on the Series X,” said Wired Productions managing director Leo Zullo in a press release. “It’s a technological marvel that coupled with Tomas’ passion and genius, constantly astounds us. With Smart Delivery, we’re ensuring fans get the best version of The Falconeer, on any Xbox at no extra cost.”

Developer Tomas Sala added, “Working on the Xbox Series X has been a terrific experience. My focus—my passion—is to create worlds that aren’t just epic landscapes and backdrops but are dangerous and haunting places. Where the action ties you to the fabric of these worlds. Time spent with the Xbox Series X has allowed me to harness the creative and technical power to take the player on a wondrous journey into such worlds, straight from my imagination, free from limitations.”

Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:

Generations of poisonous decisions and treason swirl in the deep, as factions collide.

Become the Falconeer and soar through the skies aboard a devastatingly powerful Warbird. Uncover secrets lost to the sea as you join or oppose different factions and clans scattered throughout The Great Ursee. Take advantage of multiple Falconeer classes with individual stats, weapons and warbirds that can be upgraded through winning battles, completing quests, discovering secrets, or applying Mutagens or Chants. Use ocean thermals and energy to dive, dodge, barrel-roll, and twist to gain an advantage.

The Falconeer is an open-world air combat game, featuring fast, brutal aerial dogfights and deep exploration of an incredible fantasy open-world set not only above the clouds, but also amongst the waves and down through the sunken, ocean depths.
