Comical sci-fi action RPG Minimal Affect announced for consoles, PC

A story-driven space adventure with a rag-tag crew to save the galaxy.

Minimal Affect

Publisher Sold Out and developer Toadman Studios have announced comical science-fiction action RPG Minimal Affect. It will launch for “most major consoles” and PC in 2021. More platform details will be revealed at a later date.

Minimal Affect is our homage to some of the greatest sci-fi RPGs, movies, and shows that we absolutely love,” said Minimal Affect creative director Rasmus Davidsson said in a press release. “While the story is ridiculous, the gameplay certainly is not—this is a fully fledged action RPG created in the art-style of adult animation you know and love. It’s a super galactic tale of space adventure, comedy, and questionable morality.”

Here is an overview of the game, via Enad Global 7:

Warp speed into the absurd on a one of a kind journey across the Milky Way in Minimal Affect! What happens when the rag-tag crew aboard the Star Alliance Balding Eagle blasts off on their maiden journey? Well, things get scary real quick. And the team turns to… their “fearless” leader?

Minimal Affect is a story-driven space adventure with a colorful cast of characters on a quest to save the galaxy once again and get into a LOT of space alien combat. Guide your team, meet new characters, learn new skills, explore side quests, and generally do everything you’d expect to do in a third-person action RPG, all set in a vibrant, stylish world that feels like playing a cartoon.
