Monster Hunter: World for PS4 Horizon Zero Dawn collaboration begins January 26

The PlayStation 4 version of Monster Hunter: World will begin its October 2017-announced Horizon Zero Dawn collaboration day and date with the game’s release on January 26, Capcom announced.

Special Collaboration #1: “Lessons of the Wild” Event Quest (Begins January 26)

  • Quest Level: 5 Stars
  • Requirements: Hunter Rank 6 or higher
  • Locale: Arena
  • Objective: Slay 8 Barnos
  • Client: A Heretic Protecting the Field – Now starts your intensive hunting training. It’s a winged dragon. It’s a weak one in terms of monsters. But even weak monsters can kill a hunter. Be sure not to go in unprepared. If you bring down your prey, I’ll give you special equipment for your Palico.

By clearing the quest, you will receive the materials necessary to forge the “Mechanical Beast Palico Grinder” compaion weapon and “Mechanical Beast Palico Series” full armor set.

Special Collaboration #2 (TBA)

The second special collaboration, which has yet to be dated, will be an event quest where players can obtain the materials necessary to forge the “Aloy’s Bow” weapon and “Aloy Series” full armor set to completely transform into Horizon Zero Dawn protagonist Aloy.

Monster Hunter: World is due out worldwide for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 26, and for PC this fall. In Japan, Monster Hunter: World will only be available for PlayStation 4.
