A Certain Magical Virtual-On

The latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation introduces the battle modes playable in the upcoming A Certain Magical Virtual-On.

The following modes are introduced:

  • Arcade Battle – Win through battles against NPCs. Before the start of a match, you can tune up your Virtuaroid.
  • Boss Battle – Battle against boss Virtuaroids that are bigger than normal Virtuaroids.
  • Destruction – Defeat the large amount of Virtuaroids that appear.
  • Explosion Code – Put a ball called the “Code” into the opponent’s goal for points. There is no HP damage. You will drop the Code if you are downed, so team play like passing the Code is important.
  • Other modes include Death Match (sans points system), Boss Rush, and Challenge Battle (Virtuaroid strengthening is random).

A Certain Magical Virtual-On is due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Japan on February 15. A demo is available now.
