CyberConnect2 announces “A5” original animation project

A completely original animation project from the creators of .hack.

CyberConnect2 A5

.hack developer CyberConnect2 is working on an original animation project dubbed “A5,” the company announced during its session at Anitsuku 2017 on September 10.

“A5” stands for “Astonishing, Ambitious, Advanced, Amazing, Animation.”

While CyberConnect2 did not share further information about the project, president and CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama noted, “It is not .hack. It is completely original.”

Before the session ended, Matsuyama added, “CyberConnect2 will do anything if we think it’s interesting. We refuse to do anything boring. Our staff said they wanted to make an animation, and I also wanted to make one, so we started making an animation. (Laughs.)”

“A5” won’t be the first animation project for CyberConnect2. The company has released two previous animation projects with the .hack//G.U. Trilogy movie in 2007 and .hack//Sekai no Mukou ni movie in 2012.
