Final Fantasy XV first day shipments top five million, fastest-selling title in the series

First sales numbers for the newly launched action RPG.

Final Fantasy XV, which launched worldwide for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Tuesday, November 29, shipped five million copies on its first day of release, Square Enix announced.

The number includes both physical shipments and digital copy sales.

Final Fantasy XV is the fastest selling game in the Final Fantasy series, according to Square Enix. In Japan, the game had the highest recorded first-day digital copy sales. And in Asia (excluding Japan), the game had the highest recorded amount of physical copies shipped and digital copies sold.
