A King’s Tale side-scroller announced as Final Fantasy XV pre-order bonus

Plus, a look at the near-final U.S. box art.

A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV

Square Enix announced A King’s Tale: Final Fantasy XV during its E3 2016 live stream today.

A King’s Tale: Final Fantasy XV is a side-scrolling action brawler starring a young King Regis where players have full motion control (up, down, left, right) and can use magic, summons, and companion attacks. There are other playable characters in addition to Regis, including a much younger Cid. Square Enix is promising a “robus” game—players can parry attacks, enemies can parry, and so on.

A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV

A King’s Tale: Final Fantasy XV will launch alongside Final Fantasy XV on September 30. It will only be available as a bonus to consumers who pre-order the game at GameStop or EB Canada. Details for Europe, Japan, Latin America, and so on will be announced soon.

In addition to A King’s Tale, Square Enix also previewed Final Fantasy XV‘s near-final box art for North America.
