NIS teases Cooking Fighter Hao April Fools’ Day joke

The day of (fun) lies is nearly upon us.

Cooking Fighter Hao

Nippon Ichi Software is charging ahead of the pack for its April Fools’ Day prank this year. The company is teasing a short trailer release for the announcement of a “shocking new development” said to refer to the origin of the company that will be released via its Twitter account on March 31 at 23:59 JST.

A teaser image is included with the announcement, which is clearly a reference to Cooking Fighter Hao, showing a silhouette of main character Hao on top of one of the orange event backgrounds used in the game.

While it’s an April Fools’ Day joke, it’s worth noting that Nippon Ichi Software’s 2014 April Fools’ Day joke, a cutesy reboot of its Hayarigami series, ended up evolving into the Shin Hayarigami that now has a sequel on the way.
